HP Photosmart Camera: photos
Whenever I conect the camera to the computer and turn on the camera to load pictures onto the computer the computer locks up. It seems the computer sees the camera because I get an icon showing the hp photosmart 735 but I cannot do anything with the computer. I've spent 4 hours on the phone with hp with no avail.

I deleted the HP software that came with both cameras, and I find the XP software works fine getting your pictures from your camera onto your harddrive, and I use Photo HP wants you to buy a CD with the new XP compatible software through the mail (no download over the net). This does not speak well for HP.

I hadn't been considering HP, but I came across information on the HP 850 and ending up buying it. It is a 4 MP camera with an 8X optical zoom, nice LCD and EVF, lots of manual features, AF assist lamp, uses AA batteries and it seems to give good pictures, all for about $500. I haven't read much in this group about

Comments on HP C30 anyone?
As far as cameras I have exprience with, I do not recommend the HP Photosmart. The "zoom" only comes in 2x and 4x, and it's just cropping out everything around your focus in the unzoomed picture, so it's not really zoom at all. It doesn't deal well with low light, either. Plus it apparently gives pictures a

No, just the same name that camera generated. Could you post samples of unmodified and modified files on a web page? That might help to see what's going on. Below is one of the pictures. I use a Photosmart 7960 which prints beautifully in both color and B&W, but if you already have a printer you're comfortable with for color, consider purchasing the cheapest HP that can use the #59 ($100 or so) only for B&W printing. I can tell you that B&W prints obtained with the afore-mentioned cartridge have no
